“VSS” visual speed sensor development: functionality extension, miniaturization, application-specific tuning and characterization.
The VISSEE Visual Speed Sensor (VSS) measures the absolute speed of objects it is mounted on. The potential applications are numerous, such as braking optimization for motor vehicles, and virtual trainers for physiotherapy or physical exercise. The project aims at refining and tuning the technology, specify the definitive HW/SW architecture, realize and characterize an industrial-grade prototype for 2 specific industrial fields. This will allow ViSSee to show the sensor’s marketability by making first sales, and reach its primary market by providing testable sensors.
