SDES: Security-oriented Design Of Embedded Systems
As computing and communications increasingly pervade our lives, security and protection of sensitive data and systems have emerged as extremely important issues. This is especially true for embedded systems, such as, for example smart phones, often network-connected and operating in non-secure environments, while at the same time being constrained in resources. The goal of this project is the development of a design methodology that allows considering security as a further dimension (i.e., along with the classic ones that area, power, and performances) during design space exploration. This design methodology will provide the ability to match security requirements of the applications with security solutions. By applying the security-enhanced design methodology, designers will be able to develop optimized, yet trustworthy, embedded systems.
