AlpStore

 

The AlpStore project tackles a challenge of low carbon future, which urges for a wider transnational approach. It develops technical and economic models for the complex use of storage to allow for and to foster regional renewable energy generation. A variety of master- and implementation concepts for regions, towns, business parks etc. will provide blueprints for decision making processes in all Alpine regions. Test sites with a variety of stakeholders and technologies will provide reliable input for the development of policies.

 

Demand Side Management strategies complemented with storage technologies in particular considering Electric vehicles  - EV) could be used to balance power, but few methods have been developed to integrate mobility into the energy system. 

Using storage and introducing EVs into the energy provision system will become a key factor in ensuring stable and sustainable (renewable) energy supply in all Alpine regions. New power systems enable the establishment of innovative entrepreneurial collectives managing local generation, storage and consumption cells.
