Christian Pilato is currently a Post-Doc at the ALaRI institute, at Faculty of Informatics of USI – in Lugano, Switzerland.

He received the M.S degree in Computer Science Engineering, in 2007, and the Ph.D degree in Information Technology, in 2011, from Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

His research interests include design methodologies and architectures for embedded systems, focusing on high-level synthesis, hardware/software co-design and design of reconfigurable architectures. He is a member of the IEEE and IEEE Computer Society.

The main interest of Christian Pilato's research is the development of methodologies and tools for the design and optimization of embedded systems equipped with dedicated hardware accelerators. In particular, the activity carried out in the last years spans over the following research lines: high-level synthesis and hardware/software co-design, and physical-level optimizations exploiting standard-cell library extensions  and design of energy-aware smart spaces.

Previous Research Projects:

  • PandA: a framework for hardware/software co-design.
  • FASTER (Facilitating Analysis and Synthesis Technologies for Effective Reconfiguration), EU FP7 Specific Targeted Research Projects (STREP), Contract no. 287804, local project leader: Donatella Sciuto
