Course synopsis
The increasing use of digital controllers allows an increased flexibility during operation, additional flexibility for modifications, and makes it possible to realise high performance controllers at low cost. Many possibilities exist for the implementation of digital controllers, from DSP to programmable components. The optimal solution can only be obtained collaboration in interdisciplinary teams. The objective of the course is to educate engineers to work in interdisciplinary teams in which embedded systems engineers are faced with control engineering issues. The students learn how to understand the issues connecting control design and embedded control systems, to communicate with control engineers and to master the tools and methods necessary to implement an embedded control system.
