Teaching Program/Academic Career The Master of Science (MSc) program complies with the European Bologna model for University studies (Bachelor-Master-PhD). It stretches over two academic years, providing 120 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System). It allows easy access from a varied previous University experiences in scientific and technological areas. Graduates of the ALaRI Master of Science have access to PhD programs defined by the same European standards. Persons requesting admission to the ALaRI MSc Program should have acquired at least 180 credits in their previous academic career. Suitable segments of such credits must be due to subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electronics etc. Admission is based on the analysis of each applicant's Curriculum Vitae (Admission sur Dossier). This allows great flexibility in evaluating each applicant's previous career. Particular attention will be given to applicants having already acquired more than 180 credits, for whom shorter study tracks may be devised, and for applicants coming from Universities of Applied Sciences. More detail on Admission/Application Requirements. As a general rule, brilliant students may be given to finish the Master of Science program within three semesters, in accordance with ALaRI training personnel. |

Teaching Program The program will grant its restricted class of students the distinguished scientific competence of its International Faculty as well as the support of mentors and advisors, coming from its Industrial Partners. More than 30 professors or industrial experts coming from about 20 top level European or U.S. universities or research centres provide formal lecture courses and practice. The knowledge acquired is exercised through extended practice with state-of-the-art tools and cross-disciplinary Design Laboratories, starting already in the first semester. A master research project, completes the educational program. Within the program, from the second year, the student can choose between two tracks: Design & Research of Embedded Systems This track prepares for a career in research and design of complex embedded systems, creating the ideal scientific competence background for a technical area characterized by continued innovation. Graduates can find a rewarding perspective in industrial environments as well as continue their academic involvement. Business Applications of Embedded Systems This track prepares for professional careers in industry and business. It adds to a solid technical competence in Embedded System Design elements of management and economics. The professional roles it is inferred to are, for example, client project manager, technical consultant, advisor, planning and quality control. |

Master Project Every student is required to elaborate a Master Project in collaboration with our partner companies, universities and research centres. The project allows the student to gain practical knowledge as well as experience teamwork. Besides technical aspects, also work organization and budgeting skills are fostered. The Master Project occupies about 35% of the whole study time (2 years). Master Projects are assigned at the end of the first semester, and are guided by tutors and academic advisors, as well as being supervised by industrial mentors. The final Master Project presentation consists of the conclusion of the Master Program and the achievement of the Master degree. |
