School Overview

Introduction
This Autumn School, organized by the Advanced Learning and Research Institute (ALaRI) at University of Lugano, within a framework of the IST ANTITESYS Project (IST 2001-34370), aims at providing the attendees with the skills necessary to become high-tech entrepreneurs. The course covers all the main topics involved in the start-up of a high-tech business such as: business models, management, marketing, financing, technological issues, legislative framework (with specific reference, even though not exclusively, to the case of Canton Ticino). The event creates an entrepreneurial ambience in which the students are expected to prepare a business plan for a start-up company as a course project.
The School program involves students in formal lecture sessions as well as in creating their own projects for start-ups, defining the business plans and the funding strategies and defending their proposal in front an evaluation board. Interaction with top-level experts will be granted in this challenging phase.
